So in the mountains, we have to be careful with sufficient awareness of the AMS because rugged and fluctuating mountain terrains give challenges for trekkers and adventurers. Mostly, we trek over 3000m -400m in the high Himalayas in Annapurna, Everest, Langtang, Manaslu, Kanchenjunga, and other famous trekking parts of Nepal. We should have to keep in mind mountain sickness is for everyone if do not follow the rules of the mountains. High altitude sickness is a severe problem if we don't have adequate awareness of altitude sickness. AMS may negate all your effort invested and time pointlessly in physical energy and resources of life journey. When trekking over 3000m in a high mountain we get less Oxyzen and our body slowly feels weak and starts to get AMS because of the reduction of the Oxyzen in the body. And slowly trekkers suffer from the AMS. High altitude sickness appears mainly when someone gains rapid altitude over 3000m. The reduction of the Oxyzen in the body gives you trigger altitude sickness.

The symptoms of altitude sickness are mostly known by these kinds of symptoms such as vomiting and nausea, dizziness, poor hearing, headache, loss of appetite, fatigue, insomnia/sleep problems, and increased heartbeat.

Below written are the 2 kinds of altitude sickness:

Celebral Oedima (HACE): Cerebral Oedema is a severe medical condition in human beings in the mountains, in which our brain swells with fluid in the brain. symptoms of the HACE are a dry cough, nose bleeding, shortness of breath, fever, rapid heart rate, chest pain, fainting, and swelling.

Pulmonary Oedema ( HAPE): High altitude Pulmonary Oedema is related to lung swelling with fluids in high mountains. Symptoms of HAPE are loss of consciousness, Fever/fatigue, hallucination, Photophobia.hypertension, confusion, shortness of breath, coma, and difficulty walking.

If we find someone in the high mountains suffering from these major 2 kinds of symptoms then as soon we should rescue her/him in the nearest hospital for further treatment. So we should start the trekking from low elevation, enough drinking, warmly sleep with proper trekking equipment , slow walk, no any alcohal, no carbonate drinks, . and you should get some precoution of the AMS before coming in Nepal. Adequate meadication. Mountain is mountain, anything may happen any time. So gently hit the mountains with adequate information of the high alltitude information.

You will be fine if you follow the above written rules.

Regarding the Alltitude sickness. How to It can be avoided? or how we can be safe from AMS?

Follow the below written tips to avoided the AMS:

⦁ Do not ascent so quickly.

⦁ Read your body to adjust to new circumstances.

⦁ Keep yourself hydrated by drinking adequate water.

⦁ Drink 3-4 liters of water per day or more.

⦁ Do not drink any alcohol, do not use sleeping aids, and do not smoke cigarettes.

⦁ Always trek with at least a friend or guide.

⦁ Keep your body always warm in the mountains.

⦁ Ensure that your body has adequately acclimatized before going over 3000m -4000m.

⦁ Eat garlic soup to improve your blood circulation. ⦁ Try to be vegetarian in the mountains.
